A Message From the CEO

Welcome to the very first edition of the Reboot Robotics Newsletter!

We’re so excited to introduce this monthly update as a way to stay connected with you—our amazing community of parents, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just recently joined us, thank you for being part of this growing journey.

Reboot Robotics is approaching its one-year anniversary, and what an incredible first year it’s been! One of the biggest milestones was launching our very first FTC team—Nuclear Space Potatoesand what an incredible rookie season it was! From the start, the team stood out with their creative name, drawing smiles and attention everywhere they went. But it wasn’t just the name that made an impact: the team held a strong performance throughout the season, finishing 9th out of 22 teams, competing in the league tournament playoffs, and earning the 2nd Place Motivate Award. They also made a meaningful community contribution, earning recognition for raising the most funds for the Ozarks Food Harvest in a friendly fundraising competition with other FTC teams in our league. We couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve accomplished in just one season.

Starting this month, we’ll be publishing a new issue on the last Friday of each month. Each edition will include team updates, upcoming events, spotlights, and ways you can stay involved and support our mission.

We’re just getting started, and we’re so glad you’re with us.

With appreciation,

Nicole Neeld

Founder & CEO, Reboot Robotics

Team Highlights

🟣 FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) - Nuclear Space Potatoes

The Nuclear Space Potatoes have had a fantastic rookie season, and now they’re gearing up for a well-deserved break in June and July. During this time, the team will focus on rest, fundraising efforts, and community outreach events to help support the program’s growth.

The team spent May improving their current robot, using the opportunity to develop new skills and experiment with enhancements. We’re excited to see how this growth will fuel their progress when they return for the next season!

Spotlight Series

We’d like to give a big thank-you to Cory for generously sharing his time and expertise with our team this season! Cory led an engaging class on designing and creating Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), giving our students hands-on experience in a different area of STEM.

As a special project, the team even designed a custom PCB featuring the Nuclear Space Potatoes logo—a fun and memorable way to apply what they learned. We’re so grateful for Cory’s support and the impact he’s had in helping our students grow their skills and creativity!

Thank You to Our Sponsors!

A big thank-you to Wommack Monument Company for their continued support as a Gold Level Sponsor! Their generosity has played a key role in helping us grow and empower our students through hands-on STEM experiences. We’re proud to have them as part of the Reboot Robotics community!

Favorite Moments This Month

May was full of memorable moments! We had a blast participating in the Pomme de Terre Rendezvous, where we connected with the community and shared our love of robotics. We are also proud to be affiliated with Excalibur Solutions STEM Academy to provide more avenues for learning STEM (for more information, check out our website at the Resources section under Teams) . And perhaps most exciting for our team—the Nuclear Space Potatoes completed their long-awaited lift mechanism, a big step forward in their robot development!
